At Aegis,, we believe in helping the country fight its legal battles and receive justice as easily and quickly as possible. That’s why it has started services of providing free legal aid to persons/corporations on Indian laws who do not wish to incur legal costs initially. The Indian Constitution, under Article 39A provides:
“Equal justice and free legal aid – The State shall secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice, on a basis of equal opportunity, and shall, in particular, provide free legal aid, by suitable legislation or schemes or in any other way, to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities.”
Justice is for all. It does not discriminate on the basis of caste, creed and therefore, Aegis offers free legal assistance to Indians who live at or below the poverty level and cannot afford to hire a lawyer when confronted with a legal problem. Our lawyers provide information and referral that individuals may employ to receive guidance on their legal needs. All the advice provided is by qualified solicitors and advocates who volunteer their time for free. Citizens can find answers to questions about their legal rights. We give legal education materials and tools that give basic information on a number of legal issues, and in some cases, detailed instructions and forms to help in the case concerned.
